Email AMMO Article Intro, 5 March 2009

The following article by Lorna H. Findlay shows how to use Google Adwords
to help build an email list. The adwords ads get targeted visitors to your
blog or website. Then, your landing page, provided it contains an opt-in
form, can help you obtain contact information from the interested visitor.
The visitor is interested in your offerings because you attracted them
via an adwords ad. This is much better than random attraction! Lorna
brilliantly shows one more way that adwords make money online (AMMO)!

How to Build Your List With Google AdWords

How to Build Your List With Google AdWords
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lorna_H._Findlay]Lorna H. Findlay

I have some disturbing news for you - if you don't collect the email addresses of people then you are losing out on a whole boatload of extra revenue!

With the internet it is now easier and cheaper than ever before to keep in touch with people using email, it can even all be automated using autoresponders so you can set up emails and they are sent out automatically to everyone who joins up!

But still people avoid it, I understand, it is scary to stop going straight for the sale, but it can be so much more profitable in the long run. Research suggests that it can take someone being exposed to something 7 times before they will consider buying it. If you just direct them to you website once you only get one chance.

Once you have them on an email list you can email them useful information to build a relationship with them, you can send them special offers, you can send them alternative products, digital catalogues, videos - you name it! That means that instead of maybe selling them one product, you are maybe selling them a load of products instead!

But here is the only secret that really matters when it comes to building a list using AdWords - you have to 'sell' the sign up!

Sure it is 10 times easier to get someone to sign up to a free newsletter etc than it is actually commit to buy something, but you still need to sell that free newsletter just as hard as a product you want money for.

Why?

Because people are getting jaded online, they don't want spam so they hold their email address close to their chest, they won't let just ANYONE have it. That is until they see something they want, then they hand it over with a huge smile on their face and their thanks for all the cool stuff you are sending them.

So what can you offer visitors to get them on your list? You need to decide that first or you are sunk before you start.

Videos are a great medium that has really taken off online - can you offer videos? If you sell kitchen utensils can you offer a series of cooking videos for them?

If you sell a digital book on how to train dogs can you give them cute dog videos or some sample clips on how to cure one problem they may have.

Make it desirable! Make it seem to be worth a lot, hell it should be worth a lot! This is getting your digital foot in the door to get permission to sell them more stuff. Make it good or you'll crash and burn.

Once you have that done you need to decide how to reach these people. Advertising to get people on your list is different to advertising products. Take our toaster example before - can you really get those people onto a list, I know I said it would be more profitable, but they are just not that targeted, they want a toaster and that's it.

You see if you are building a list using AdWords you need to concentrate on just getting that person to sign up your list. You can't have a page with both your product on and the sign up area for your list, give people multiple options and they'll often take none.

So we have to choose one or the other, for toasters I'd go for the sale, THEN on the page they go to that thanks them for their purchase I'd put the sign up for your list and offer something cool. They have just made a purchase, they are no longer worried about where to get a toaster from, they are happier, they now have time to look at the videos you are offering etc. Plus you know you are getting someone who is willing to spend money!

For the dog training videos you can go straight for the sign up - advertise on dog training keywords and offer 1 set of videos teaching their dog how to stop barking. People click through, like what they see (hopefully) and sign up to your list, you then get to sell them the rest of the videos, dog toys, dog training aids etc etc!

I have heard of people getting up to 70% of the visitors to their site to opt-in to a list, so that sure beats the 1% conversion rate you might get for purchases, but again the key is to test, test how much money you make going for straight sales and getting them onto your list afterwards, test how much money you make getting them on your list first and going for the sales afterwards, and then keep the winner!

Opt In Email Advertising

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Romando]Richard Romando

Email advertising has become a very important part of the marketing mix. Almost every seller has recognized the reach that email advertising has. Every kind of company, from real estate to banks to travel agencies, is using this method to attract customers’ attention.

Advertisements through email have the tendency to irritate the viewers sometimes, because they may clutter the inbox of the recipient. They also take up valuable Internet time and other resources related to it. This is the reason why email advertisements, especially unsolicited messages, have been termed as “spam”. Spam mails are unsolicited messages which are sent to people without their asking for it. The law now bans spam mails.

No company can use a person’s email address to send advertisements if the recipient hasn’t provided the address for the specific purpose of receiving the advertisements. As per The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations Act of 2003, a person shall neither transmit, nor instigate the transmission of, unsolicited communications for the purposes of direct marketing by means of electronic mail unless the recipient of the electronic mail has previously notified the sender that he consents for the time being to such communications being sent by, or at the instigation of, the sender.

However, email advertisements can be sent if: a) the company has obtained the contact details of the recipient of that electronic mail in the course of the sale or negotiations for the sale of a product or service to that recipient; b) the direct marketing is in regards to that company’s similar products and services only; and c) the recipient has been given a simple means of refusing (free of charge except for the costs of the transmission of the refusal) the use of his contact details for the purposes of such direct marketing, at the time that the details were initially collected, and, where he did not initially refuse the use of the details, at the time of each subsequent communication.

One way to get email advertisements across is to send only “opt-in” advertisements. These are also known as permission-based advertising. These can be sent only if the recipient has personally opted to receive the advertisements sometime in the past. This could have been while browsing through the company’s sites or while signing up for some other offer, or while buying some of the company’s products. Companies collect the addresses of the people who have opted to receive the ads from their own sites and databases.

Companies can also obtain the addresses of people who have opted in from some other agencies or broker companies that collect such addresses. These companies have millions of email addresses, with the customers categorized on the basis of the products they are interested in. These are categorized on the basis of topics, demographics, geographical locations and so on. Lists that contain the addresses of interested recipients may be more expensive, but they are more effective.

One major advantage of using opt-in email advertising is that the response rate is likely to be higher, as the customers have requested that information. The response rate is expected to be anywhere from 5% to 15% for opt-in email advertisements, as compared to less than 1% for spam mails and banner ads. Thus, the ROI is also likely to be more. It is also more cost-effective, as the number of emails sent would be limited. There is also no chance of being termed a “spammer”. Another advancement is the use of the double opt-in system for more credibility. By this, the recipient not only solicits the list but also confirms the solicitation through email or any other tool. Opt-in Forms and Email List Management For Your Website

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Vernita_Sherman]Vernita Sherman

Have you ever seen those forms on websites that allow you to sign up for special offers by entering your name and email address? Have you ever wondered how you can have a form like this on your website? Imagine being able to follow-up with your website visitors by sending them a training series, newsletter, special offer, coupons, etc. This is also an excellent way to keep up with current customers and announce up coming sales.

Well this form has several names but most internet marketers call it an email opt-in form (although you can configure the form to include more than just an email address) and you can easily have one added to your website.

After a website visitor submits their information on the form, the follow-up messages are run by a tool called an autoresponder.

There is a difference between a regular autoresponder and the type that sends out a series of messages. A regular autoresponder will automatically send out only one reply email, while a multi-responder or multiple autoresponder will send out a series of messages. This series will be set at time intervals that you choose (once a day, once a week, per month, etc.)

This is how an autoresponder system works:

Once your website visitor fills out the form on your website and submits that form, they will be redirected to a "thank you" page on the site (this page can be anything you want). While your visitor is being redirected to your thank you page, the autoresponder system has just sent them a confirmation email message on your behalf. The first email message is usually a confirmation email where your subscriber has to confirm their request to receive further emails from you.

The way that they confirm their request is by clicking on a special link inside of the confirmation email (your autoresponder system creates this link for you). Once your subscriber clicks on the confirmation link, they will start to receive the first email that you have pre-written in your autoresponder system. Your other emails will be sent automatically at the time intervals that you have set.

Now you will be on your way to building a large list of potential buyers that you can follow up with for future sales.

Don't worry about the technical aspects of having an opt-in form or autoresponder system set up on your website because most internet marketing service companies will offer an email list management (also known as opt-in email marketing) solution for you.

How to Build a Good Quality Opt-in List of Eager-Paying Customers Using an Auto-responder - 7 Tips!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Frank_A_Trueblood]Frank A Trueblood

The first thing you need to know is what an auto-responder is and what it does. An auto-responder is like having a personal mail carrier at your beck and call. An auto-responder is simply an online computer program that allows a person to fill it up with pre-written email messages and then have those messages delivered at any time you set the messages to be sent.

Using an auto-responder is very simple and yet it can do some very complicated chores for you. Here is a list of 7 tips you can use when setting up your auto-responder.

1) You can set up an auto-responder to reply to any person who has requested information about your product or service.

2) You can set up your auto-responder to automatically send follow-up emails to people who originally requested information about your product or service.

3) You can set up your auto-responder to send out your pre-written messages, daily, every other day, weekly, monthly or any combination of all these.

4) You can set up your auto-responder to deliver a newsletter.

5) You can use your auto-responder to respond to email queries if you are going to be gone for a week or two or an entire month.

6) Most of all, your auto-responder can quickly and easily build you a list of eager-paying customers who would like to purchase the products or services you have to offer.

7) You can set up your auto-responder to send out special seasonal offers or special event offers or even special sales offers.

Think of your auto-responder as having your own set of grocery coupons. Every Sunday in your local newspaper you see a section of it stuffed fulled of grocery coupons, reminding you of one thing. Come shop with us and you will get 50% off or 2 for 1 or something like that. The stores' main purposes are not to give you the best deals in town but to keep "reminding" you, "Here we are, do not forget about us."

Sometimes it takes a person as many as 7 to 9 times of seeing something before they decide to purchase that item. Without consistently being in front of them with your offer, you are just throwing money out the window. If you send a person to your website and they only see your offer once, chances of making a sale right then is not very likely.

Your auto-responder is a great tool to use for building trust with your prospects and then turning them into good paying customers. To see how a auto-responder works go to: http://whoisdirectory.com and type in a question in the upper right corner where the auto-responder is located.

How to Write Your Autoresponder Email Series For Maximum Profits!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Franck_Silvestre]Franck Silvestre

If you are not using autoresponders in your Internet business yet, you are losing a lot of money because it has been proven that the more money is made with email follow-up. It is also well known amongst the Internet marketing crowd that the money is made with the backends.

In this article, I am going to reveal the right way to write your autoresponder sequences, how often you should mail, what is the best day to send your offers, and a some mistakes that you absolutely need to avoid.

1. How often you should mail?

Many Internet marketing gurus will tell you that you need to mail once a week. Well, this works, but I've been coached by highly successful people, and they all recommend to mail at least three times a week during the first months.

It may seem a lot, but when you think about it, many people will not open all your email, so you want to pre-load your autoresponder with as many email as you can.

2. How to write your series of message?

This is important because if you mess up with this, people will unsubscribe from your list. The secret is to give what you promised in the first place (when they opted in). It's simple, but many people forget this.

3. What is the best day to send your offers?

The best day to send your offer is on Monday.

4. Two mistakes you should avoid at all cost

a. Don't let your subscribers forget you. Make sure that you write at least one year of emails.

b. Always check your links before adding the email in your autoresponder. There is no benefit in sending an email with dead links. Plus your subscribers will see you as unprofessional.

These tips should add a couple of grands to your yearly income.

List Building With Google Adwords

List Building With Google Adwords

List Building With Google Adwords
By Sean Mize

In order to be fair and complete in writing these articles, I feel like I have to address Google Adwords. I will tell you right up front that I have heard of people using it to build big lists. I have added as many as 50 subscribers a day pretty easy – in fact, I think I could have added 500 subscribers per day if I were willing to spend the money – it was pretty consistent, and conversion rates at the squeeze page were good – I think they were around 50%, and my average click was about 50 cents, so each subscriber cost me $1. Which is fine.

The problem for me is that I could not get them to convert to buyers. They would not open their emails, they would not click through to my web pages. Now, I sent them the exact same emails that I send everyone else, the same subject lines, same schedule, everything.

My opinion is, if you were to do some robust testing you can probably get Adwords to work – other marketers claim that they can do it.

I stopped because I was making too much money on my other avenues of lead generation and wasn’t willing to spend the time to do the testing.

Here’s how you would do it:

1) Decide on about 25 keywords that will be good for your campaign.

2) Create a different category in Google Adwords for each keyword – you have to be able to test each keyword.

3) Create a different squeeze page for each keyword, so that you can track each individual keyword conversion rate at your site. (There is tracking software available online; I cannot recommend any; I track everything by squeeze page conversion rate using my autoresponder, and I track the effectiveness of my campaigns only by the sales they make – that is the only thing that matters, anyway, right?)

4) Use the Google Adwords keyword tool to come up with related keywords for each category you have created.

5) Put a daily limit on your advertising that is equal to 1/10 of your total budget for Adwords advertising. Be prepared to spend it all and have dismal results – if you get sales, great, if not, just be prepared. This way you can advertise for 10 days.

6) Spend at least 30 minutes per day studying the results. Change bid prices, change seo keywords, etc. that are not getting good conversion rates.

7) Begin split testing your email campaigns, starting with open rates. Find out which open rates work well for Adwords subscribers. Once you have that down, start split testing email copy to find out what gets the most click throughs.

If you follow this procedure, and develop a campaign that makes money – gets opens and some sales – I might be willing to pay you for your results – so let me know.
